Sunny Side Up

I have been working for the upcoming 9 Lives in Art Resident Artist Show at Austin Art Space Gallery. I sold the 3 pieces that I did for the show the 2nd week of the exhibition. I had several painting of prickly pear cacti and I wanted to "overhaul" one of them for the show. I didn't have a visual reference so I decided to turn to the computer for assistance. Here is "Sunny Side Up", a digital image that I created on breaks from painting 4 other pieces for the show.

Last week when the sun poked through briefly we got some nice skies out here. I painted over canvases that I had prepared with deep blue tones, painting from dark to light. There are 6 in this mini series which I will show at the upcoming 9 Lives in Art Resident Artists Show at Austin Art Space Gallery.
